My Air Quality – Improve the air quality of Helsinki!
My Air Quality is an experiment based on Healthy Outdoor Premises for Everyone HOPE project. The goal is to improve the air quality in Helsinki by offering citizens different ways of reducing their personal emissions affecting the air quality, and by offering a chance to decide which actions to execute in neighborhoods, and to offer a way to present action ideas for other citizens and for the city of Helsinki.
The target neighborhoods of HOPE project are Jätkäsaari, Vallila and Pakila. My Air Quality offered the citizens of these 3 neighborhoods the chance of voting on actions tailored for each neighborhood's needs. The actions were planned in co-operation with project partners and experts. Because of this, all actions were not available in all neighborhoods. The voting was open during November 2020, and the actions will be executed during 2021.

We will measure and analyse in parallel with the actions the local air quality and the effect of the action, and we will collect feedback from the citizens. We will try to implement the actions that are found to be the most effective also in other parts of Helsinki wherever they are most useful.

The goal of the My Air Quality experiment is to enable candid testing, piloting, co-development and co-learning for all parties involved. Working together we all can by our own choices make Helsinki even better place to live.
